Weapons of Mass Instruction

A dear friend saw this on the street and posted it in his blog. I think it´s worth to tell people about it.

---------

The Weapon of Mass Instruction is a sculpture that has the property of giving away books and accept book donations.
The ADIM (arma de instrucción masiva or weapon of mass instruction) tries to jurney through the poor neighborhoods, schools with lack of resources, bars, houses too far away in the country and places where books rarely reach and wich are sorrounded by loneliness.
The ADIM is also a street intervention, an art masterpiece, a protest, an image from an other dimension placed in this one.
It´s the car of its creator, and they go everywhere together, unless its rainy.
If you find this weapon in your way, do not hesitate, pick a book and take it, and commit yourself to donate some of the books you may have at home, the ADIM will go and collect them.
Books donations hasn´t been a lot, but they are very significant, we try to build a net with all those people who share the vision.
The ADIM is a concrete message that broke the walls of museums and libraries. And the barrels of art.

-------

And I think this is wonderful, it would be nice to see more people doing this kind of things everywhere :)

Here is the website:

And I apologize for my ugly translation.

I fear that too many books, Argentinia may also become...a socialist nightmare!

Very interesting sculpture / creation though.

LOL!!! God help us!

You know that you can buy used books here for like 1 USD? And new classic books in great editions for 3 or 4 USD. There is a street full of bookstores that are open until midnight where you can find really cheap stuff. It´s a great nocturne plan.
