I have a question. Is real Polish vodka available in the USA? If so, try it. It's not very strong (ca. 40% of alc), but can be great (I recommend Wyborowa Vodka). And if you like some fruit flavoured vodkas I recommend trying Slivovitza. Real Slivovitza can be bought in Czech Republik and in the southern areas of Poland. Be careful as it can easly catch fire (I swear, I've seen it)

@gaseki
There is only one "real" sljivovica and thats the homemade one ;)

The homemade one is lil bit more burning in the breast than the regular sljivovica.

As far as I know, there are two differnet types of sljivovica....one is colorless and the other has a yellow glance.

I get only the yellow one of a farmer who is doing this only for hobby.

Bytheway, almost in every region where plums are growing, you can get sljivovica .....even in the non-slawic countries

I use sljivovica sometimes even as alternative medicine, especial against pain at teeth (I have fear of dentist!) and it is much better than ASPIRIN coz after drinking there is no taste and no feeling anymore in my mouth and belly.

....but of all aperitifs I prefer kruskovac (kruska=pear)

@ilex
Vlahovac is one of my fav liquors and it has a similar content like Jaegermeister but for my taste on my tongue and the smell in my nose.... Vlahovac has a much better taste and smell but it is very expensive :-/

Maybe there is an other american label of this liquor with much better taste.

I hope you didn´t drink the Barcelo 151 PROOF rum of Dom.Republic ......thats a really heavy rum....

I give this rum only to the "friends" who are telling they are able to drink much.... this rum is now more than 6 years in my rack and still not empty.This rum is genial for cleaning foto and video objectives :D

@michelem31
This bottle looks like if it is a liquor for ladies.

I see this cat at the bottle and these two words sour (=bitter) and poss (=kitten?)

I guess a man would never buy this bottle regarding to the design but anyway if I have the oppertunity to buy this bottle, I like to buy,hide and try. :sch:

p.s. The frame of your LCD looks nice.... it looks like black piano effect

@LePand
I can´t get frozen Baileys ......but I like to try to put some "Barcelo" in my european baileys :lol:

You can make "calvados" anywhere, but only the one from Normandy will be Calvados. The rest will be just apple brandy. The same with slivovitza.
And yes, by get I meant buying (or receiving as a gift) from a local farmer. And that thing can be set on fire.
The colour, I belive, may be caused by some different approach to the production process

Yes, you can get Wyborowa here in Dallas, at least.

I didn't express my thought clearly. What I meant is that I've heard that you have some "special edition" of vodka which has less alcohol in it. In Poland standard volume is 40%, whereas I've heard in the US you have 20%.

Oh wow, I look at this thread and I think "Jesus! I have so much to drink!"
These days have been really cold here, so I could "kiss" a vodka bottle right now...

Does anyone know what is Amarula made of? (probably wikipedia, but I´m soooo lazy today :D)

Never tried Jager, does it taste like Absinthe? I didn´t like absinthe much. I know we had this talk some time ago, but I don´t remember asking this.

I don´t like anise. And I don´t like melon. Or mango. Or lemon. Lemon in my drinks... only in small dosis. Lemon in my food is forbidden, yak! Tequila´s overdose fault heh :D

I like almost every drink, especial when the drink is for free. :D

....but I do not like if fruits are swimming in my glas and when I have to fish for it. :(

It is lil bit strange but I even do not like any food/meal where I have to use spoon. :sch:

@dh: No Sangria for you then, eh? Yum!

I love fruity, girly drinks.

And I had a really great Scotch once- I can't remember it well, only that it tasted really mossy and earthy.

I think it was Scotch anyway.

Weird. My boss and I were talking about the various ways to make Sangria today... *twilight zone music*

(I love the spicy kind, by the way...)

I drink Sangria only if it doesn´t look like a little aquarium in my glas.

I am drinking girly drinks incognito.....I like beer+cherry, beer+banana or "Asti Cinzano" (sweet sparkling wine).

The problem is I am allways too much thinking about the color,smell and unesthetic drink/food (e.g. onion looks like cutted finger nails.....bleeeeeeeeeeeee)....and if the food/drink is too complicated to eat/drink I do not like it, e.g. bony fish.

Bytheway..... I noticed that I broke my New Years intention not to drink any alcohol :sch:

Anybody,who keep till now his New Years intention? :tongue:
