Magenta is a purple color that can be made from a mixture of red and blue light. It is a pure chroma on the color wheel midway between violet and rose.

In popular usage, the term magenta itself can be used to indicate a variety of colors.

Magenta is not a spectral but an extraspectral color: it cannot be generated by light of a single wavelength.

Magenta was one of the first aniline dyes, discovered shortly after the Battle of Magenta (1859), which occurred near the town of Magenta in northern Italy.

The color was originally called fuchsine or roseine (named as a german guy called Fuchs) , but for marketing purposes in 1860 the color name was changed to magenta after the battle. (I read in the spanish version of this text that this color was named as this battle, in reference of the color of the spilled blood)

About 1977 bright colored hair dyes became available for the first time to hair stylists, and some people began having their hair dyed magenta.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has a character called Magenta played by Patricia Quinn.

The color Magenta is used to symbolize anti-racism by an anti-racist group headquarted in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Wow, LePand, I don't think we are missing any informations about magenta any longer! :)
Perhaps I should copy that and make a print. Just in case I meet this couple again. ;)

Wow, speaking of shared hallucinations: LePand and kleineRatte making tie-dye t-shirts. That is now stuck in my head.

Oh course, my first question to them would be, "do you have anything in black and grey?"

You'd wear a safety-orange tank top with all available information about magenta printed on it? 8o
Cool. :)
So I already know what to get you as a birthday present.

Great. Lush in an orange tank top, LePand in panties... When we all have photos we can make a new thread: "What ridiculous clothes does a Covenant fan wear?"

We are uploading soon the pictures "in the hairdressers". I´m wearing: a pink strapless, a leopard-transparet shirt (tied in hte front as a bolero singer), hair-curlers (is that the term for "rulero"?) with a black net... I look like a 3 year old girl playing in my mom´s closet hehehe

I'm bias towards magenta with black font only because I like to wear a transparent black cardigan with my tank tops. Looks like with contrast. :)

You can make panties but I remove myself from any photo sharing that may be expected with that. It may sound very "anti-fan" but I refuse to put any band name anywhere on my body below my waist. :P

While I'm sure you look great in your photos, I fully understand this feeling, restless! I have photos of this nature, too, and also involving snakeskin patterned clothes.

A man in my past said he was interested in me because I look like a specific cartoon character (Jessica Rabbit, which is scary that I met Marci last night and she randomly said she saw the resemblance as well and teased that I should wear a tight red dress to the club some day) so for his birthday I took him out wearing the "alternative Jessica Rabbit" outfit. Long, tight grey/white/black snakeskin print ballgown, black satin elbow gloves, and my long dark hair in the same style.

Here's to hoping he doesn't hate me enough to post them on the web some day! :sch:
