There were well dressed men and women around 50, sitting in an armchair, holding a kind of cognac glass, smiling frontal at the camera and explaining something like “I drink Jägermeister because I like to celebrate my well-earned evening at home”.
Nobody would have *ever* thought of selling that stuff as a fancy fashion drink.

That's really funny! I get such a specific mental visual with that image... god I love cornball 70s/80s advertising...

Argh, yes, call me Debbie Downer or whatever, but I experienced two drug-related deaths at age fifteen and that was enough for me. Even before my teenage brain could decide to try anything other than alcohol, any curiosity I may have ever had is long buried with those two bodies of old friends. Even now, nearly fifteen years later, I still cannot forget the power substances had over them in life. That is how people are shaped, though.

Yeahp, I undestand, my brother was completely fucked up for more than 10 years. Not a nice show for an eight year old girl... Thank god my beloved *ss h**e is now almost ok...

I've never seen this and I dare not Google for photos! Meanwhile, the term "goth" is so odd. I try not to let labels bother me in life but this term sometimes does. Just when I argue with someone that I am not "goth" I realize I'm wearing mostly black, find many morbid things lovely, and visions of Eric Draven dance in my head.

If you are still curious here is the link. If you check it, I´ll keep the secret haha!

I`m not label friendly also. But when you live in a place that is not used to different stuff, you get used to labels. Here, people dressed in black is not something you see everywhere all the time. Me, with my pink hair, I´m used to be pointed at the subway. Imagine this, when Covenant came here, there where 500 people. We can consider that a success as there is no more people in the entire country that consumes this stuff! And we are a pretty big country! So non-fashionable changes here are weird for most of the people...

Anyway, it used to be harder, things are much better since Tim Burton and Evanescence, seems now it´s "cool" to be goth!

You should open your nightclub here. Since the accident of Cromagnon (in rock a show, the place burned down, 200 dead) everthing is closed, and the ones dressed in black have not even one place to go out.

Thanks for reassuring me! :)

Yes, there are absinthes without anis. Especially the Czechs make some of those, like Mata Hari, Fee Verte or Thujone Delirium (nice name, huh? It’s a red one… I wonder if the fairy is supposed to be red than?).
I’m not sure, but I think the absinthes without anis don’t cloud when mixed with water.

My, I sound like I did nothing but drinking for years.

Oh, no place at all to go out? That hurts. :(

In Germany it's not so unusual to wear black. But my hair’s pink at the moment, too, and people keep staring and commenting on it.
I’m rather used to be called a Satanist, a prostitute or a Nazi either. OK, the latter was when I used to shave my hair. Since they’re longer and pink, I haven’t got that problem any longer.

Actually we have only one small dance club, but it is always full of teens that are more concerned to show the rest how dark goth and depressed they are than having a good time... It´s a dark pose contest...

And we have a very very small bar, next to the dance club.

I mean, we have hundreds of bars and dance clubs and parties all the time, but only those that I told you before are the only ones with our kind of music.

Gabriel (the guy of the record shop that I told this girl from Chile about, that is the only record shop of this type of music here in the south) organizes very big and good parties once a month for the past 10 years. But since this accident the goverment shotted down most of the big places and we cannot find a good place to make them...
People from Chile have to cross the border to buy cd´s and people from Argentina have to cross the border to go dancing to the Blondies parties :)

And not only the way they look, also what you like and some times what you feel. So now, as long as I don´t hurt someone, I don´t care, I laugh inside, couse I´m happy and they will never get it.
Still, my mother in law will keep giving me white shirts with color stripes and flowers, having the hope that maybe she can cure me... haha! 8)

 Goth kids are the much the same everywhere, huh? I mean, it's allright, If I had been "goth" at the age of 16 I surely would have acted exactly the same way, but sometimes I need some grown up people around me, too. ;)

I see. Reading your lines make me almost feel privileged. We've got a club playing dark music every Thursday and two "only-dark" clubs about 100 km away. Occasionally there are bigger parties near our city, too.

Oh! Pity for both of you... :( We have these parties from thursday to sunday *every* week, sometimes 2 or more at one day. Seems, living in Bochum is luxury. :D
The music is mostly electronic, slightly mixed with 80ies. The majority of clubs have more than one area with different styles of music. I would dare to say, the parties and the club-scene here are better than in Berlin (for example). The right place to be for people who like to dance their ass off whenever they like to. ;)

Not to speak about the concerts...! Nearest to us is Pratteln at Switzerland but you practically can't get too this place without a car. :!:

Chicago used to have the best clubs, but everything has fallen apart. My favorite Exit has lost the dance floor, and now it is full of horrible people who couldn't appreciate good music if the world depended on it. I guess if I was much younger there are events like "Nocturna", but I find it difficult to be around 18 year old kids.
At last, there is Neo. It is better then nothing. As for presents (I am not married), my mother always buys me pink. That is not going to happen!!

Pink like this or pink like... well, like a pig?
I could live with the first color. The second is something that was created to cause eye illnesses. 8o At least when it's used for clothing.

Thank heavens my mom never bought me clothes since I began earning my own money! :perfekt:

Pink as in baby girl pink. I keep telling her never to buy me clothes, but she is somewhat older and never listens to me. I just don't want her to waste her money.

Fact 78.985.367: Mothers in law will NEVER listen.

But it is more like a chess game, once you know her, you just have to pick the right words. Once she gave me an ugly t-shirt with a stupid inscription, so I said to her "ohhh It is so beautiful! but you see, this is how your son used to call that snake that ruined his life, I mean, that ex girlfriend that you hate so much... so I´m going to change it if it is ok with you, we don´t want to hurt him, do we?" so she said "oh Jesus! I didn´t know, I´m so sorry, please, please change it!"
And now, she will never give me stuff with stupid inscriptions 8)
