Stephan Groth - Fairlight Children

Das lang erwartete Album vom Apoptygma Berzerk-Nebenprojekt "Fairlight Children" soll voraussichtlich im März 2004 bei SPV veröffentlicht werden. Erste Single-Auskopplung ist der Track "Before You Came Along", einer der griffigsten und eingängigsten Songs des kommenden Albums "808 Bit". Anfang Februar wird diese Single inklusive einiger fantastischer Remixes das Licht der Welt erblicken.

I love ApB too. A few years ago I loved SGroth almost as much as Covenant. I like how ApB experiments with sound, none of their albums are alike.
I was really dissapointed with the lyrics on harmonizer though. I hope that the next album's lyrics are more universally motivated rather than about relationships with the opposite sex. I really thought prior albums were almost prophetic in nature. For example, If you set aside the alien factor in 'eclipse' you pretty much have September 11th. 'nonstop violence' is a beautifully written and expressive song. It really brings to life a political nature in song writing that I can feel and go nuts on the dancefloor too, (because I feel it)...This is why i came to really LOVE ApB. Actually they were my first passion in electro music. Unfortunatly, I just didn't get that sensation from the last album, although it had some decent moments.

Erster Single-SpinOff von "Fairlight Children ist die Maxi "Before You Came Along". Wie in unserem Album-Review schon angekündigt handelt es sich beim ausgekoppelten Track "Before You Came Along" um einen der eingängigsten Songs des kommenden Albums. Insgesamt befinden sich 5 Tracks auf der Maxi, welche seit heute im Handel erhältlich ist. Hiermit gibts auch - wie immer - das Artwork und Tracklist der Maxi.

Wie Stephan Groth (Apoptygma Berzerk) kürzlich in einem Interview verlauten ließ, wird von Apoptygma Berzerk in naher Zukunft eine DVD gekoppelt mit einer CD, die Remixe des Songs Unicorn enthalten wird, veröffentlicht werden.

Die Remixe von "Unicorn" werden aus verschiedenen "Szenen" kommen und somit auch ein vielfältiges Spektrum bieten. Neben den Remixen wird auch neues von Apoptygma Berzerk zu hören sein.
Ein neues APB Album ist ebenfalls in Arbeit, sodass die Fairlight Children (Stephan Groth`s Nebenprojekt) mit ihrem kürzlich erschienen Album 808bit nicht auf Tour gehen werden.
Wann genau man mit einem neuen APB Album rechnen kann, ist leider nicht abzusehen.

Apoptygma Berzerks Unicorn-Box als Schnäppchen bei Amazon

Zwar ist es noch ein klein wenig hin, bis die Unicorn-EP zusammen mit der DVD von Apoptygma Berzerk am 1. Juni erscheint, doch eine Vorbestellung könnte sich eventuell jetzt schon lohnen. Amazon bietet nämlich das Paket für €15,99 an. Vielleicht findet sich noch eine Maxi dazu, denn ab €20 fallen ja bei Amazon die Versandgebühren weg.

Neues Apoptygma Album in Produktion!

Habe heute eine Mail vom Herrn Groth bekommen! In dieser verrät er einige Details zum neuen APB-Album. Da die Band das Album gerade produziert, kann er noch nicht genau sagen, in welche Richtung der neue Sound geht! Fest steht allerdings, dass sich das neue Album von den Sounds der beiden Vorgänger "Welcome To Earth und Harmonizer" distanziert! Sie arbeiten an einem neuen Sound, in Richtung früher 90er Indie Rock! So im Stil des Albums "7"! Die Richtung der neuen Produktion geht derzeit mehr in die Richtung der "Liveperformances"! Mehr Gitarren, mehr echte Drums usw! Auch werden in Zukunft keine Digitaleffekte mehr verwendet, es sollen mehr analoge Sounds und Effekte ins Album einfließen! Bis zum heutigen Tage wurden 8 Songs geschrieben!

Anzunehmen ist, dass das Album aber erst nächstes Jahr erscheinen wird!

Apoptygma Berzerk - neuer Vertrag, neue Single, neues Album!

Am 18.7.2005 hat das lange Warten ein Ende! An diesem Tag werden Apoptygma Berzerk ihre neue Single "In This Together" veröffentlichen. Im August folgt dann der Longplayer. Es gab ja die letzten Jahre heftige Diskussionen und Spekulationen, wie das neue Album nun klingen wird! Soviel steht fest: Es soll gitarrenlastiger, aber auch elektronisch werden! Stepahn hat mir persönlich vorab verraten, dass sich die Fans weder "Welcome To Earth 2" noch "Harmonizer 2" erwarten sollen. Die genaue Musikrichtung ist bislang noch nicht durchgesickert.

Stephan Groth hat heute bei Gun Records den neuen Plattenvertrag unterschrieben!

ich finde den Song "in this together" ziemlich langweilig - irgendwie Radio Gedudel - ich glaube die wollen unbedingt GEMA Gebühren kassieren - ich weiss nicht, ob ich da zur Tour gehe, wenn das ganze Album so 08/15 ist

Ich muss gestehen. dass ich auch ein wenig "überrascht" bin, was das Lied betrifft. Da drängen sich mir Vergleiche zu The Rasmus oder Placebo auf. Ich dachte eigentlich, dass Stephan Groth seinen Sound gefunden hat und eigentlich nur noch darauf aufbauen bräuchte. Aber dass er jetzt den totalen Umschwung in Richtung Mainstream macht, finde ich nicht richtig. Das hätte er nun wirklich nicht mehr nötig.

Ich hoffe nicht, dass das gesamte Album so klingt, denn dann werde ich es nach dem Probehören ganz einfach wieder ins Regal stellen - angefressen davon, dass schon wieder eine Band meinen Nerv nicht mehr trifft Erst VNV und jetzt evtl. das...
