Okay we do not want to get overly political here, but i would find it interesting and informative to know what the sentiment is about America in your countries right now... do you think it is improving, worsening or have you guys always disliked us (just kidding :P)...

On some of the boards, I have noticed that there is a belief that we all support what our country is doing in the world... i live in what is called a "Blue State" over here... we're the ones who didn't vote for the crazy religious man in the white house... if you have any questions about what it's like here don't be afraid to ask or offend, let's just keep it civil okay?

I voted for "getting better", because I think that people want to get along with each other.

Sorry, I cannot explain it in a better way...

I think it will remain basicly the same for some time, albeit theres a huge difference between the political "getting along" and the private, personal relationships.

Niki, i do think we realise that many americans dont support the Bush regime, although we do raise our eyebrowses to the seamed ignorance from many voters during the last election, as in- cant they see they´re being fooled? A friend of mine actually said she felt pitty over/for the american people, although that might be taking things a bit too far imo.

I was definately discussing the more global aspects of relations... and you know, i DO actually feel sorryfor/have pity on some of the poelple who voted for Bush... These are people who live in small town america and think that somehow their entire way of life is being threatened by a) gay people, b) terrorists and c) people whose religious beliefs are different than their own. They are being sold a whole list of fears and they are voting for the person who says he will somehow keep them "safe"... nevermind that he is giving away tax money to the other end of the tax scale... it's very strange to be living here in these times... my parents (who i considered to be well-educated, grounded people) are rabid Bush fans and there is nothing i can say that will make them see what he is doing... willful blindness is a powerful and dangerous thing, but hopefully some people are beginning to open their eyes!!!
