I love the books of Nicolas Sparks. They are full of great feelings.
My favourite book of Nicolas Sparks is "A walk to remember". A lovestory full of longing, fears and letting go...

oh my god... did you see the movie of that book? i watch it on HBO all the time.... it is a wonderful movie!!!

I haven't seen it yet and I ask myself if I should do,. Because when you read something it's your mind's turn to get it into frames. Maybe movies destroy your own imagination.
I experienced that when I read "Message in a bottle" and saw the movie ta TV then.

okay to be honest when i saw the movie i didn't know of the book so i watched it on it's own merits and loved it... i have not read the book...

At least such beautiful thing exists in books, if not in my reality...

Re: Bücher / Books

I personally like "The Stand (German: Das letzte Gefecht)" by Stephen King. As an atheist I'm sceptical about the religious aspects of the story, but I love the atmosphere. It's not a very profound or intellegent book, but I found it pretty interesting.

Another favorite of mine is "The Corrections" by Jonathan Franzen, a great melodramatic story which deals with the typical conflicts in a family: the kids who have grown up struggle with their own problems and the parents they left behind have to mange with their more and more lonesome life.

Heretics of Dune by Frank Herbert, great stuff!

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
As the moment elapsed, we walked in slowmotion.
