Well, when I move house I make it a habit to have an eventful opening of the first book. Many have gone on the shelves today, but I blindly pulled one from a box- it was Plato's Republic- interestingly, it's the same exact one I blindly pulled from a box doing the same "ritual" moving into an apartment six years ago. So I closed my eyes and pointed to a sentence. I got:

"It is for certain."

Ok, there, Plato. Sounds more like shaking a magic 8-ball but I can go with that. Kind of ambiguous but then that it of itself does give one wiggle room for freedom of interpretation now doesn't it... I think I'll take it to my advantage...

I'm into Remarque right now. While travelling for the Diorama gig in Warsaw I've read "The Dream Room" and right now I'm reading a collection of his short stories (some are very short). I love his style. Still, for me there's nothing I could compare to "Arc de Triomphe." I belive it's Remarque at his best. And after I finish the short stories I have "Persepolis" waiting and smiling at me.

Just finished Being Indian: Why the 21st Century Will Be India's, by Pavan K. Varma

By the way, if anyone here has a LibraryThing account, PM me and we can trade book stuff. I have a lifetime membership but, as with my LiveJournal and MySpace, it's a private profile. Isn't a social networking site- it's a book networking site the same way Lastfm is a music networking site.

For some reason, my lastfm site isn't private though and I have no desire to make it so. Go figure.

Ok, time to get off the internet- my medicine is making me ramble and babble... today I am all chatty and :lol: , tomorrow when I read tonight's posts I will be :sch: :mauer: :sch:

The Book of Ti'ana- Rand Miller

The books are prequels to the Myst computer games. Super easy reading; you can get through a book in a day. I'd almost classify it as Young Adult SF/Fantasy.
