Yes, I think it's a good idea to simply lock this thread. If there might be an update on things or something, I'd ask the admin to re-open the thread so that I can post here.
But I can't see this happening. The story is over, and anyone should try to deal with it personally (or in email or private messages, if you need to talk, but not publicly).
Just for the record, I feel also offended by the stupidity that all this were only a PR stunt. Apart from the fabricated fate of "Mika" being a horrendrous, nightmarish thing - a PR stunt to sell CDs which is only published in a *members only* section of the band's forum, where only few people who buy all Covenant releases anyway can read threads, is a pretty poor attempt to increase sales, just for a start.
And thanks to everyone who expressed compassion for the person who made up this horror story. If you are able to do this despite the distress and harm this story caused for yourself, then it proves that you can think twice. I guess when you think about it it's clear that such fabrications are not made up for some (sadistic) fun but the person behind it truly suffers from troubles and psychologic problems. The person first and foremost lied to herself, and as cynical as it may sound, we're just the "collateral damages". If you are angry or not or if you can forgive or not may be a different story, but you should try to acknowledge this point. Frankly, I think there was noone else who was as much involved and affected by all this as me, and I simply forgave this person and wish her all the best to overcome her personal probs which caused this delusional state of mind.
