It is not connected at all. d_h and I were out off topic with this 2 subjects and we mixed them in this "salad" inside Multimedia. I guess the idea of tis thread is to keep improvising freely about anything that may appear that is related somehow with multimedia :D

I have that- it's good. :)

I have it too, in "e-mule" version :D
Maybe you can check in your cd´s booklet to see if it says how they use (if they use) the C64?

I'd love to but my version is the same as yours! It's on the medium-to-short-list, however...

Wish I owned a VIC-20 or C-64. And a library of applications and games, preferably on disks, since tapes have proven unreliable, even if they are cheap.

Oh, and one of the things I want is an Atari 2600, aka Atari VCS. It's THE classic game system, and has the longest production period of all consoles ever. Although according to a rumor, the Pacman port for Atari led to the major game crash in 1983, because of it's bad programming and horrible sound.

I have an Atari 2600 (the one that is not working) and I have pacman with original package and all, I even have a the instructions manual! And the best part is, it was a gift :D

A guy from Nintendo said some years ago
""Video games don't affect kids. If Pacman had affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.""

Would love the console- only have the emu though.

re: PacMan- it can't be worse than ET! I remember playing that as a kid and getting *so* pissed off...

ET goes on my (and everyone's) All-Time Worst Games Ever, Seriously, What The Hell, I Wish I Could Somehow Make The Programmers Give Me Back The Hours Of My Life I Wasted On This Piece Of Crap list. But then it's famous for being terrible.

Daikatana and Quest 64 also come to mind. Never finished Q64 but I *did* finish Daikatana- driven solely by sheer morbid curiosity as to how long a game could actually sustain such badness...

See, I can't even find a suitable word for it. I have to go with just plain "badness"... :td:

ET was an abomination that begs for destruction! I can't say with mere words how much I hate that game!

My favorite Atari games are Frogger and Space Invaders. Although the port was quite different from the original arcade version, it was quite fun and it had a thousand game modes as far as I remember.

Frogger and Space Invaders, I was addicted to those! And of course, as in any computer game, I used to suck very much 8)

My worse performance in history I think was with Asteroids. Push Start. Game Over.

Oh God yes. The time that I first played that game was around the first time in my life I got in trouble for swearing. Coincidence? I think not. I mean, just... to quote Engrish Darth Vader: DO NOT WANT.

Then I discovered DOOM and imagined every demon I was blasting away was that damn back alley abortion of an alien. Good times. :)

I'm pretty good at Atari Asteroids. Play it all the time with my Competition Pro joystick.

Really liked Frogger and Space Invaders as well. And I, too, sucked at Asteroids.

But speaking of really hard games, anyone remember Sinistar? Williams did a Best Of compilation for the PS and that was one of the games. I love it, but man, I don't go into it thinking I'm going to last longer than 60 seconds. :(

RUN COWARD!

The Philosophical Revelations of Sinistar

(I will say that for the old cabinet games, I *rock* the house at Robotron 2084- which is entirely different than playing it on a PS :( )
