Clas Rumors, Etc

Am posting this here as I don't want to torture anyone with my terrible German.

I know I'm not the only one who has been spending a bit of time with rather dubious online translators, parsing out what's being brought up regarding rumors about Clas leaving the band over in the German thread.

From what I can tell, I don't think anyone has any information on this subject either way. So it sounds like total speculation to me, arguments within the band or not. And it isn't like fighting with your co-workers, even if they are long-lasting friends in your band, is an uncommon thing. So we can't expect them to pop in with statements to rebut pure speculation about something that isn't even all that unusual to begin with.
I don't want to piss anyone off, but the requests for statements from the band are coming across as quite demanding.

Maybe there *are* problems- but the point is we don't know either way, so it's useless to try and fill in any perceived blanks. Why should they release a statement over our assumptions? if there's anything to release a statement *about* then they'll do it when they're good and ready to do so.

Clas hasn't performed with them live these past couple of times and he won't be on Orkus. Ok, and...? People seem to be jumping to a lot of conclusions based on that. Maybe he has things going on in his personal life that he prefers to attend to, but still plans on recording as part of Covenant as well as performing live when he can. And Eskil's side projects aren't indicative of anything other than the fact that Eskil has side projects.

I'll be just as disappointed as anyone if it ends up that Clas leaves the band at some point (or Eskil, or Joakim); I don't need to belabor the point that we all love and appreciate his contributions and that it wouldn't be the same without him. And I do hope that doesn't happen. It might, but let's not work ourselves up into a frenzy about it just yet.

Didn't mean to piss anyone off with this post- it's just something I have been thinking about since the whole Clas Is Leaving The Band thing started.

Anyway. Just wanted to throw that out there. If there is something I have gotten incorrect from what I'm understanding in the German thread, please let me know, and I apologize.

There will be a statement about this and other things. There is turmoil. There will be changes. There will be a future.

Hmmm well - Change can be good and a future is good but the turmoil bit sounds a bit grim.

I found this little tidbit from a Russian Covenant community on Live Journal, which was taken originally from Sideline Magazine:

Visitors of Covenant's 2007 tour will have seen it already, Clas Nachmanson was nowhere to be seen on stage. Instead Clas' place in the band was taken by Daniel Myer of Haujobb/Architect fame. Does this mean that Nachmanson will be leaving the band? In an interview with Side-Line magazine Covenant's Joakim Montelius had this to say about Clas not taking part in the tour:

"Clas is fine and happy to become a father in a few months. He simply decided to focus on other things than Covenant for a while. At this point we don't know if he's coming back at all. The future will tell."

Clear is that the presence of Daniel Myer was more than appreciated by the band. In the same interview, which you can read in Side-Line 60, Montelius' says that Myer's input had an influence on the dynamics and sound of the band live:

"Yes indeed. Almost too much... (smiles). No, not really. But Daniel is a true musician, which none of us really are in the true sense of the word. We are technicians and constructionists. We build music out of our ideas without considering how it should be performed live. Daniel is all that and an able musician as well. Give him something that makes noise and he makes music with it on the spot. That is a talent we never had before. So definitely, he adds a new dimension to our live sound."

The new dimension of the band's live sound became more than visible and audible when Myer added industrial drumming with some barrels on stage, even throwing them into the audience during Covenant's live gig in Novosibirsk, Russia, jumping after them to continue his drumming.

Thank you for information.

I would like/love to see 4 musketeers performing.

Eskil (voice)
Joakim (PC and voice)
Clas (keyboard)
Daniel (Drums)

;)

But if I am honest, it is realy nice to see that family is more important than carreer. :perfekt:
