Trying to find Dead Stars CD Single

I've been trying to find the out of print Dead Stars CD single. Does any one know where I can still find one?

Well, I would check ebay. As far as I know the single is out of print, so you have to be lucky to find it in any other (online) store.

Yep. I have seen it and other rare Covenant stuff come up now and then.. (but you should also look at ebay.de) However, it's a hell getting a lot of the Germans (who usually have the goods) to ship to the US. It would be advantageous to partner up with a German "mule" to get the goods to you. A lot of the time, people even prohibit US bidders from bidding!! I learned that the hard way.. my friend in Germany was going to have the CD mailed to him and ship it on to me.. and I was waiting until the last minute to snipe.. and then I realized, as a US bidder, I was banned. :(

I don't get it tho. It's just a little tiny CD??!! Is DeutchePost such a nightmare that peeps don't want the hassle to ship to the US? I also had the same problem with trying to get a CD printing tray shipped to me (small lightweight plastic item) and no one would do it. I tried explaining to them how much money they could make if they shipped to US customers, as patent infringment issues prohibit the trays from being sold in the US.. but no one budged.

I got my copy of the US version of DS on ebay as part of a lot of Covenant CDs, so look in lots also and not just for single items. I had to pay like $19 for it.. but I also got the import version of the Der Leiermann single.. and 7 other CDs (which I already had) 9 covenant cds for under $20 can't be beat :) And it was a US seller, so that was plus.. I didn't have to try to change the mind of a German. :P

I figure I can give the other ones away to spread the gospel.

ps... oh and I asked the seller why on Earth was he dumping so much good music, and he said he just didn't listen to it anymore... but I guess in the age of digital music, it doesn't mean as much to sell your old CDs.. cuz you could keep backups of them.

Thanks! I also try ebay.de. I don't mind buying a lot of cd's as long as I can find it. I'm not in a major rush to buy the cd since I'm still missing a couple of covenant cd's.

Also, I'm a fan of buying cd's for the artwork work and have an original copy, not just having a burnt copy on my drive.

If I have the time and remember it, I'll check our SSC stash at Playground next time I'm there. I recently could add a 12" promo of tour de force to my collection, so you never know what might be hidden there ;)

Also try Amazon Marketplace - I got my Sequencer First Pressing from there (from the German site) :)

I've been watching amozon for the last couple of months with no luck. I'm also holding out to find a first pressing of Sequencer also.

Nope, nothing left in the SSC stock I'm afraid. I think the online market places are the way to go.

There is one on ebay right now. (Ebay US). Apologies to the current bidder if they were hoping that not many people would notice. HERE

I'll be traveling to see a friend of mine in about two weeks and he says he's got Dead Stars just collecting dust on his shelf. If he's willing to let it go for free or cheap to me, would you like me to check it out for you? I'll make sure it plays well and has no scratches, of course. :)

Totally understood. I'm still working on getting back a ton of stuff either lost/stolen, on tape, or re-sold over the years, especially Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Covenant, Daft Punk, and insane amounts of original Wax Trax releases. All while keeping up with new releases too. Besides this, I just recently started to add more EPs to my collection as well. It's all quite con$uming! ;)

As soon as I get my hands on it I'll let you know the condition. He's a decent guy so he'll probably let it go for cheap. :D

There has been a couple of places that I have come across that you can still get some of the good stuff from (Wax Trax, 21st Circuitry, Zoth Ommog). I have alot of stuff to get on CD (from tape) and on top of that, catching up to new stuff that I'm missing.

Still looking. I just missed a copy of it on ebay for $5.99. Well, at least I got a copy of Call the Ships to Port at a decent price off evilbay.

I've got a spare Dead Stars for sale if anyone is interested. CD is is in great condition with original insert and case.

@motormenace: I know you've been looking for it in a certain price range, so best of luck! I'm sure it's bound to pop up again on the bay eventually. And congrats on getting your hands on CTSTP at long last! Yay! :-]
