and now, the points of the belgian jury Due to family-reasons I was just able to pop in to see Covenant… got at the venue less than half an hour before the show and was already moving towards the exit right after the last note of ‘happy man’ had sounded… It was a beat-driven show indeed… I was so glad to hear ‘Monochrome’ back as opener (still the best the men ever made) and ‘Go Film’ was smashing indeed… I understand that ‘Invisible and Silent’ was a needed point of respiration in the show, tho...
why not try to contact jan, mastermind of diskonnekted, with that question? perhaps they're recording the show themself, and he's quite an accessible guy, quite active on the dependent-forum http://www.diskonnekted.com http://www.myspace.com/diskonnekted and to y'all happy campers: i'll just be taking the train from brussels and back
finally got the tickets, and started the countdown till saterday with a covenant-album a day :-]
Zitat Originally posted by EvolutzMaybe I´ll be there in Belgium... let´s see - I don´t really appreciate this country, because it´s so ... I don´t know... unfriendly in a way. really? though I guess we belgians are quite distant towards people we don't know well... :sch:
farewell i hope that yourl stay abroad will be an exciting adventure, and that you still will be able to pop by this forum from time to time
to avoid mistakes: i didn't mean to point out a difference between 'the' or 'an' official space... i just used 'the' in one sentence, and 'an' in the other, meaning the same thing i don't mind that someone, appointed by the artist(s), is taking care of the myspace instead... though it's more correct and nicer to point this out on the webpage on the other hand it's fun to see an artist really making it 'his' space: writing his or her own blog, responding messages him- or herself, posting links an...
in case it's not the official covenant-myspace, my apologies for jumping the gun... it was communicated by the offfical seabound-myspace, so i figured that this was finally the one to make things even more complicated... the official myspace of metropolis records links to www.myspace.com/covenantsweden, a very basic covenant-profile that could be the foundation of the official covenant-space later... but that's just me guessing i hope the band has not to wait much longer to start an offical mysp...
Zitat Covenant really should offer a covenantofficial myspace site which, from now on, is a fact: http://www.myspace.com/covenant about time! because almost every week there were new unofficial covenant-myspaces... not to mention the kiddy-christian rockbands that use the name
'sequencer' and 'northern light', in no particular order
Zitat Originally posted by Niggels Each to his own, Hilarius. We all love Covenant's music for different reasons and different things about it. definitely , btw i didn't mean my remark as any criticism on your opinion. it was thanks to your post i figured out why i always liked the ablum-version of theremin better... i knew it was something with the drums, but i didn't realize what actually... i'm very oblivious when it comes to that side of music
i finally dit it, my sequencer-votes: 'babel' (live, obviously), 'feedback' and 'slow motion' (i always hit the roof because of the way eskil 'screams' at the end of the song) but still it feels really bad i couldn't vote for 'stalker' and 'phoenix'
i'v voted for 'cryotank expansion', 'wasteland' and 'voices' (for the optocoded-version on the theremin-ep) ... a pity i couldn't vote for 'shelter', 'void' and 'speed' though... btw: still haven't decided what to vote in the sequencer-poll Zitat Originally posted by Niggels As I said, I love the club version. I just don't like the original version because of this damned speeded-up bass drum. funny, that's the reason why i like the album-version more than the club-version...
congratulations and thanks for the music, the performances, the talks and for delivering the perfect soundtrack in my mind at special moments in my life...
i voted for the usual suspects: 'tension', 'leviathan' and 'go film' altough i doubted a long time about '2d' (in some way an early version of 'spindrift'), 'i am' (although i rather prefer a live version), 'control' and 'consumer'... a difficult choice indeed
done. my votes went to 'still life' (off course ) 'like tears in the rain' and 'tour de force'
Zitat Originally posted by covenant_girl Zitat Original von Niggels Maybe a hint that the band should better include it in their live sets? oh yes, that would be great! hear hear!
did my duty and took advantage of my three votes this time i seem to agree with most of you by voting for 'monochrome', 'prometheus' and 'call the ships to port' yet again, it's a pitty not voting for all those others songs... i guess 'northern light' is my favourite covenant-album..
being too hasty i only used one vote, for 'greater than the sun' but you can add another vote for 'pulse' and 'spindrift' and yes it hurt not being to able to vote for 'the men' and '20hz'
i didn't really understand this discussion because i don't know a thing about the technical side of music... '20Hz' sounds allright for me... but if it's about this haunting "ride"-sound of the songs, i have to disagree... it's one of the things that make '20hz' so different and strong... imho off course
i tried to follow the discussion in german at skyshaper vs northern light but since i'm not good at all in german, i'd like to answer here in english, or do an attempt at least I think that 'skyshaper' is the right record at the right time... The very divers and intens album gives you a feeling of confusion, and that's how i (and probably a lot of other people including covenant) feel nowadays... Off course this isn't done on purpose by the band, they just manage the capture the feeling of the m...
