Alles aus den Bereichen "Small Talk" und "Sonstige Themen" ist in die Social Networks abgewandert oder verstreut sich auf die verbliebenen Foren. A follow up compilation "State of the Heart - 3" is scheduled for release in January 2012. It will be a set of two CDs again with a host of upcoming artists and better known friends of the forum (like Modcom and !distain). Have a look at the artist roster and keep track of the latest info on the facebook page for SOTH3 . The previous compilation "SOTH 2" featured the track "Miezkaserne 3000" by ampyre. Since then ampyre collected a couple of remixes and made them available as "reMiezkaserne EP" ...
I'm playing "A Map Of The Floating City" . It's the title of the upcoming album of synth oldtimer Thomas Dolby. He created a free online game to promote the new album. Nice work, you have to work collaboratively with members of your tribe to move forward by trading and to finally solve the mystery. While you are completing sets of items you gain free mp3 downloads of Thomas Dolby's older tracks. The winning tribe will even get a "private" concert
auf der Compilation-CD des aktuellen "Sonic Seducer"-Magazins findet sich eine Demo-Version des neuen Tracks "Worlds Collide". Klingt für mich wie Covenant mit einem Hauch von Copacabana (vielleicht wg. der Streicher), eher etwas für die Fahrt vom/zum Club als für die Tanzfläche. Diese Ausgabe der Zeitschrift lohnt sich, sie enthält auch noch eine exklusive Remix-EP von Absolute Body Control.

wer es noch nicht mitbekommen haben sollte: die Location wurde verlegt, von der Zitadelle Spandau auf das Columbia-Gelände. Dort werden die Konzerte Indoor stattfinden. Und es wurden weitere Bands dazugebucht. Ich bin aber nicht mehr dabei, da gleichzeitig ein anderes Konzert (ex-The Chameleons) stattfindet...

that was an extraordinary evening in a fantastic location. It was such a delight to attend the gathering of very skilled musicians on stage for the first time after 25 years and see how easily they assemble the old bits and pieces together to one whole song. One highlight was surely "Airwaves" performed by Thomas Dolby on piano, Trevor Horn on bass and Bruce Woolley playing the theremin vox. The setlist as I remember it: Part 1 ("public rehearsal"): Love Is A Loaded Pistol (from upcoming album) ...

als Logic von Apple übernommen worden ist, bin ich auf Cubase umgestiegen. Da ich überwiegend noch externe Synthies nutze, kann ich zu Plug-Ins keine Empfehlung geben. Außer dass die Waldorf Suite leider Macken bei der Soundverwaltung hat Wenn ich heute neu anfangen würde, würde ich erst mal Reaper ausprobieren (hatte es aus Spaß mal in einer sehr frühen Version benutzt, da es per USB-Stick transportabel ist).
the recently released debut album "Zeichensetzung" by Odradek. I like the sounds of the album a lot, maybe a bit anachronistic compared to the current club sounds, but well, I like to be anachronistic myself . And it's great to listen to while working.
