Uhh, very recently, when someone compared another band's clothing choice to theirs.
And I didn't like them at first.

*epic fail*

i discovered their music when i heard the oliver klitzing remix of "call the ships to port" in a club and bought that vinyl, too. i even don't know if i ever played that track for people... but i think so. it was in 2002/2003.

I came across Covenant in October 2004.
I had bought a Pet Shop Boys Album at Amazon.de and Amazon came up with a commercial saying that I might like Covenant. I read a few reviews and found out that they were even compared to Kraftwerk, a band which I adore very much.
I selected the Synergy - live album, because I thought it is something like a 'best of' with the energetic mood of live-albums. And it was.

Normally, I try not to be a slave to capitalism and commercials, but in the case with Covenant, I was and it prooved to be good.

back in 2002-3 when I started listening to bands like Apoptygma, VNV, Icon Of Coil, De/Vision. Covenant were my least favourite at that time ;)
Now they are my MOST favourite 8)

It was right after Skyshaper came out. This guy I had recently met in college was really excited that he had just bought it and we sat down and listened to it. I was instantly hooked and prompted hunted down every album and single I could get my hands on. The guy had been a huge fan for years, to the point that Covenant's music had come to profoundly influence his worldview and personal philosophy (in conjunction with VNV Nation, actually). Now I'm not far off.
I noticed they are all unique, with faces that are all their own.

Well I'm probably a little late to the party by joining the forum now, but I'm still glad I found it.

I heard Speed on a college radio station way back in 1997. Went out and bought Dreams of a Cryotank. Took me a while to get into it, but once I did, I couldn't stop listening.

Welcome!

Speed is quite good, manages to be intense and dynamic without getting repetitive.

Well, first : Hello !

I saw them at the Amphi Festival 2008, I was waiting for the next band (or the band next the next band ^^)...
It was a realy good surprise, I'd never heard about them before. Since then I try to see them once a year... Not realy easy, but I always have a good time in front of the stage !
