And the band members were very close to the audience as there was no barrier in front of stage.

Sounds like the setup of a US show :)

In San Antonio there was a tiny little wall of wood at the edge of the stage - no more than a foot high, but I pretty sure this was left over from the days of the venue being a punk hangout... and there to stop the mosh pit from going onstage.

Heh. In NY, the stage was built for the event and it was very low.. maybe mid thigh high? Some chick jumped on the stage and danced around.. but she was hanging around up on the edge of the stage the whole time, and really it was just a matter of time before she went center stage... Eskil seemed amused, but the crew swiftly removed her.

In Toronto, the stage was about waist high I think.. and everyone was using it to put their drinks and purses on. :)

It's very upclose and personal.

Holley, I'm posting a few SAT pics over in the NA Tour photos thread. I didn't get very many pics, and what I did get, was not at all good. I just wanted to dance and have fun more than video or photo.

And you know, not to disrespect my very favorite song from Skyshaper and probably from their entire catalog (except for Helicopter which they refuse to play- grrr!) but there's one line that really stands out to me and actually popped into my head at the time... I guess he was in the mood to take "I cruise the crowd" literally!!

There has to be *someone* who has video or photo of him actually..ahh...crowd cruising... TX being my stomping grounds, I will ask around about this. I already know about 5 people offhand who might have access... I will keep you posted, and perhaps if I find any, you can see if they fit with your CovCam reel.

Helpful Holley! Ambienized Holley! Needs to stop babbling on an international forum and go to BED!

Damn Ambien.

Good night all- sleep well, wherever you may be.

Great show. First time in Poland and we are very happy to see happy Covenant, too (caused by Polish vodka).

I was just telling subetha last night that the venues tend to be up close and intimate which is really nice. Except for when you get crazy people jumping on stage with you, ha ha... and s/he *isn't* wearing a Burger King mask...hee hee...

Yeah, I'd love to see those pixs- post away!! We have a handful from when I was talking to Eskil right after the club- my friends came up and snapped a bunch- haven't posted them yet. But I want to see yours.

Yeah. Probably the person who's hands and camera are blocking all my other shots ;)

I have one with him way overexposed, partial blocked by a bunch of heads, when he was on his back in the crowd.. and one of him trying to get back up on stage. both kind suck tho.

Also, i must invest in some faster CF cards for my camera!

I know *nothing* about cameras and photography, so I can ask this without sounding like a complete idiot- is it possible to manipulate via photoshop or other programs, pictures that come out over/underexposed, or is it pretty much a moot point?

I already tried in photoshop, and it's not a giving me decent results. I did shoot everything in RAW format (CR2) tho which is supposed to allow me to adjust the exposure and all kinds of other parameters of the photos. However, I have not explored how to do this, and/or which software to use. Photoshop does not open camera RAW photos. Perhaps Dani or Claudia knows?

Also. I can't even get the RAW images off my camera and onto my G4 yet since I have to upgrade my version of iPhoto I guess (it's using iphoto 2! which is very old). On my newer laptop, iPhoto imports both the jpg and the RAW format... but I don't have space on the lappie to put and keep the 4 gigs of photos I shot in San Antonio.. I KNOW it *sounds* like a lot.. but a lot of them were crap, and each photo in RAW format takes up atleast 10 megs.. and then the jpg another 2-4 megs. And apparently, I have to use iPhoto to get the images off. All my other digital cameras mount the media as a volume, and I can open it up in the finder and just grab what I want... but with this fancy pants Canon, it only lets me import -everything- off the card through software. I suppose I should explore the software it came with :)

edit: ok, i found the photoshop plugin. :sch: but i will have to run some experiments.

Same was at the Dortmund show and the venue in Frankfurt might have had half the size as in Lodz. But you're right, is was just amazing.
The crowed had such a good mood and the "stunts" were so funny too. ;-)

The setlist contained a good mix of new and old tracks. I heard it should have been basically the same as played at the DNA Lounge (San Francicso).
But for now I feel drawn to my bed...

The setlist seemed to be really short.

I don't remember the complete list but I try to... (not the right order I guess)

20hz
Bullet
Tour De Force
Invisible & Silent
The Men
We Stand Alone
Ritual Noise
Stalker
-------------------------
Theremin
Brave New World
-------------------------
Happy Man
Call the Ships to Port
Dead Stars
-------------------------
One World One Sky

Thanks a lot for the great pictures of Empire In Dust.
As they are friends of mine and I'm doing their Fanclub-website, would you allow me to link the pictures?

I can add two more tracks to the list:
there was a highspeed version of Tension followed up by Tour de Force.
This combination really was a Tour De Force and I was glad they slowed down afterwards giving me the chance to recover ;). And later on they also played Feedback.
So the list now reads like this: (still not the right order)

20hz
Bullet
Tension (Remix)
Tour De Force
Invisible & Silent
The Men
Feedback
We Stand Alone
Ritual Noise
Stalker
-------------------------
Theremin
Brave New World

Happy Man

You know, this stuff seems to make an impact on everyone... I talked to my roommate from back home today and he happily exclaimed "Polish vodka? I LOVE Polish vodka!" and then yammered on and on about how great Polish vodka is...

Zebrowka! The unofficial sponsor of Lodz Gothic Festival Weekend! :D :P
