It's a rather short tour, isn't it?

Wonder if they will travel with their full show (incl. the LED thingie) over the pond.

There might be some more dates coming. Especially between Detroit and Denver there is still room... And the San Diego show will be followed by a gig in Mexiko City.

Well, we might be able to tell you as we will head for the shows in NYC, Chicago and maybe Washington.... Still checking flights ;)

Well, I just checked flights and it's $300 into Montreal :(. Last time I went to Montreal, it was $150. Hopefully, they will come down.. or else I'm planning on the train. It's only $100 RT from NYC to Montreal (but 11 hrs on the train!!). $150 if I want to go up to Montreal, and back down from Toronto. But then that involves a $75 ticket from Montreal->Toronto and could leave me with extra days in Trono.. BUT - I'd rather have extra days in Montreal, than Toronto.. but then that involves $75 back to Montreal.. so $250 in train fare vs $225. Plus hotels, hostels, etc.

If I still had a job, this would not be much of an issue :) But, I'm freelancing right now.

I remember the good ole' days when Canadia was cheap. :( At least it's cheaper than driving :)

New York Show info

I found this info on myspace... Info about the NYC show and what else is going on that night. I was wondering why they were out there at 3rd Ward... because it was my understanding that it is an artist's workspace, and not a concert venue. (I might be taking a class out there). I hope there aren't legallity problems with proper event (liquor, cabaret) licenses tho!

From chambernyc.com -- TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE!!
There are a limited number of ticets available @ $15/ea - only 200 - so get these while you still can. After that, the prices go up to $18, $22, and $28!!

The 2006 CHAMBER Dark Art Festival is right around the corner - Saturday, Sept 30th, so here's your chance to get involved!

This year's show is going to be outrageous, and we want your help...

We're hosting the event in Brooklyn, in a 15,000sq ft. industrial art complex, covering 2 floors, an outdoor area, and 3 rooms of dark doom! Only a 20 minute train ride from NYC on the Morgan Ave stop of the L train. 10 min from Williamsburg area. This is located in the E. Williamsburg Industrial Park, which is right off Grand Street (195 Morgan Ave, Brooklyn - mapquest it).

===========
MAIN CHAMBER (room ..1):
This room will host the 2006 Skyshaper Tour featuring COVENANT, ROTERSAND, & IMPERATIVE REACTION. DJs spin Industrial, EBM, Synthpop, Retro Rave, Electronica.

INDUSTRIAL CHAMBER (room ..2):
will feature the SNOG 2006 Tour, along with END and Sobriquet. DJs spin harsh EBM, Industrial, Techno, TBM, Noize, Elektro.

FANTASY CHAMBER (room ..3)
will feature a special performance by CASE OF GRETTA CONNORS, plus suspensions & erotic torture by Bella Vendetta (with the lovely people of bellavendetta.com) & Rites of Passage, burlesque performances, body mods, full bar, DJs spinning Goth, Dark 80s, Death Rock, Whatever.

OUTDOOR AREA:
There will be food and various performance arts and sculptures, as well as a beer bar. DJs will spin Dark IDM, Dub, Downtempo, Breaks.

Here's what we're looking for...

ARTISTS all types...
performance, photo, video, body modification, still/canvas, sculpture, whatever. Just some interesting stuff. So if you think you got what it takes, go to the following site and fill out the form to be considered - http://www.chambernyc.com/Festival/Artists - we are already pretty much booked up, but we still have a few empty slots left, so we'll be choosing carefully. Our only requirement... the theme of whatever art you will be displaying or performing must be DARK. Whatever your interpretation of DARK might be. Very simple... or is it?

BANDS...
we've got all the bands we can handle, but if your really spectacular and have a good following, and think you might fit in our roster, and we like what you sound like... maybe we'll consider you. Go to http://www.chambernyc.com/Festival/Artists - and fill out the form. Choose the PERFORMER option, and please provide some sort of link to your music and bio. We'll only consider maybe 1 or 2 more bands. Electronica / Laptop bands ok. You must bring your own backline. We'll have a board, house PA, and monitors, but you'll have to bring the rest (mics, stands, drum kit, etc). Sorry, all of our gear is being used for Covenant and Snog performances!!

DJs...
Hmm... that's a tough one. Seeing how we're not too crazy about most of the local DJs, we're going to be picky on this one. One of the criteria's we have is that you can BEAT MATCH. Sorry, none of this waiting for the song to end mixing, iPod, or let my computer mix the beats. We want professionals for this event. Someone who has taken the time to nurture their craft. Of course, the next criteria is your ability to move the crowd. And I don't mean by playing it safe and dropping all those industrial/ebm/goth Top 40 hits/anthems (that's what the 3rd room will be for!. You know what I'm talking about. We're keeping this interesting... not the same old thing you can hear everywhere else. Yes, we'll drop some anthems here and there, but our DJs will also educate the crowd and take them on some sort of musical journey. Don't be afraid of the music. If you don't know it... and you like it, dance to it! That's our motto! Contact me directly to be considered for this... optic (at) terminalbeats.com

PROMOTERS...
Yes, we need promoters. TONS of PROMOTERS! You'll make some good $$ doing this. All you have to do is sell tickets for us. You don't have to pass out flyers or anything like that. Just sell tickets. Simple. If you have the ability to sell tickets online, then by all means, you can do that. Contact me directly for this... optic (at) terminalbeats.com - and I'll explain the particulars. We're especially interested in outside NYC promoters, people that can cover NJ, CT, MA, PA, RI, MD, NH, ME - this is the main NORTH EAST COAST date/show for Covenant Skyshaper Tour. So it's an easy sell.

STREET TEAM...
We got a good street team for this one, but we can always use more! Contact me if you can cover the following areas:
Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, Uptown, West Side, Long Island, NJ, CT, MA, PA, RI, MD, NH, ME. We also need you to post up POSTERS of the event as well - this is a separate position and paid separate from general flyer distribution.

VENDORS...
If you got something you think would be ideal to sell at this event, please go to the following site and download and submit the Vendor application - http://terminalthunder.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4.0
Space is limited, as we are pretty much filled up, but there are spots for maybe 2 or 3 more vendors. Clothing, accessories/jewelry, costumes (Halloween is right around the corner!), sex toys, whatever. Just sell something interesting. If your a store, we're also offering some space on the main stage - after the Covenant performance - to be utilized for a Run-A-Way show. If your interested in this, please make a note of it on the application.

===================

If you would like to contribute in any other way, by all means, please contact me at your earliest convenience - optic (at) terminalbeats.com

===================

We also have the following positions available:

- BAR BACKS
- PORTERS
- CASHIERS
- RUNNERS
- STAGE HANDS
- CLEAN UP CREW

all pay different rates. so contact me for more info.

The event takes place...

SATURDAY, SEPT 30th
@ 3rd Ward
195 Morgan Ave
Brooklyn, NY

8pm-8am
18+

Hm, the US dates are still not up at covenant.se...

*nod*

I don't doubt the validity tho.

ps. the NYC promoter confirmed that booze can be served until 8am.. (I think the site was updated to say that also). very important detail. cuz, when the booze stop, the party stops. ;)

Well, the dates are up now. Subject to change and "more dates will also be added" -- so maybe there will be more dates before Denver. (texas maybe?)

Mon-10.02.06 - Toronto, ON CAN @ Opera House

I'm so happy! I can't wait to see them. But I'm confused, I went to www.ticketmaster.ca and they didn't have anything scheduled for this...?

Dienstag, 5. September 2006, 03:18

Does that venue normally use ticketbastard? I just checked their website (operahousetoronto.com) and it shows this:

COVENANT with ROTERSAND & IMPERATIVE REACTION
Doors 7:30pm 19+ $25 advance at Ticketweb.ca Info @ www.djlazarus.com

So perhaps tickets for this event are not being sold through ticketmaster.

I was considering going to Toronto also, but might just stick with NYC and Montreal.

Actually, I just checked pollstar, and additional dates are listed:
Fri 10/06/06 Racine, WI Optyx Nightclub
Sat 10/07/06 Saint Paul, MN Station 4

&

Fri 10/20/06 San Antonio, TX White Rabbit

Is there any news? If there will be more dates they should be announced (and promoted!) soon I guess.

Yeah. I just posted that above. The gap btween Detroit and Denver has been filled with 2 dates in the midwest and the gap of the whole Southwest (ex. California) has been filled with a date in TX before the show in Mexico City. Although I'm nowhere near TX, I'm glad they added a date... it's not all Bush country, and I think skipping TX would be a huge oversight.

Imperative Reaction have updated their myspace page also with the new dates.

The only thing I can see coming, if there are any more dates to come, is a date after San Diego, before TX -- possibly Vegas? But with only 2 days off during the whole tour, I would not blame them if they chilled out after SD.

Also, the dates have finally been posted on the Metropolis site aswell.

Also, our release date for BNW is October 10. :\ X(

Oh, sorry. Didn't notice that they were new dates as I didn't have all the US dates in mind.

Well, I'm happy that all the US & Mexican fans get their tour. :)

Covenant always varies their setlists from gig to gig so no one can say for sure. There are setlists in the various threads for single shows where you find setlists. This may give you a rough idea what to expect.

To give you some insight on the NYC/Brooklyn event.... the venue is an artist center. But they have a 3rd floor space which they use for events such as these. It's actually an industrial loft... which use to be a machine shop. So it's a very 'industrial'ish', raw space, with huge windows, views of the city, and high ceilings. The promoters have to bring everything for this show, and it's turning out to be quite a production. I've been to 2 production meetings already, and it just seems to get more elaborate each time. Nonetheless, it will be an interesting experience for this scene out here, which has become quite boring and stale for the past 2 years or so. It is worth the $18-20 cover... if you ask me that's a very good price for this event.

The local police and fire departments have already been notified of the event, and are providing off duty personal to monitor the event. I've been to events here in the past, and they generally attract between 1000-2000 people per show. This one should be no different. The liquor license has been secured, and it allows the venue to serve until 8am - it's mainly used for New Years Eve (license), but it can be used anytime of the year as long as certain conditions are met (age, capacity, fire exits, fire system, security, etc). So everything is good to go so far.

Also, since there are multiple rooms, and multiple bands, no bands will overlap each other. So as soon as 1 band finishes in 1 room, another band will start in another room. With minimal downtime between bands - about 5-10min. DJs will be playng in the rooms with no bands for those of you who don't want to listen to a particular band. Also, during the Covenant performance, the sound from the main room will be patched into all the rooms, so everyone can enjoy Covenant from any room. Video feeds will also be patched into each room and projected on the various screens... like I said, a very elaborate production indeed!

All I can say, is wear or bring your most comfortable pair of shoes, if you plan on staying till close (8am). Also, if the venue is still busy @ 8am, the party will keep going until it empties out. Haven't done one of these in a long time, and this is the perfect event to pull an all nighter!

Well, hope that gives you some idea for what your in for that night! See you there!

Oh by the way, here is the link to the official site - http://www.chambernyc.com
