RE: Radio interview

Thanks Mattias for the hard work! :)

Josefina: Are you proud of the album, is this the best Covenant album so far?

Claes: I don't think so. But I believe Eskil and Jocke, who have been working the most with the music, feel a bit more like that. And I guess that's what happens when you work very tightly with it, you always feel you do your best. I personally believe that if you look at it in retrospect, in a few years, I don't think we will announce this to be our best album. I think this album has too much of a tendency to approach average. I don't feel there are any extremely strong songs, although not any extremely weak either. In my view it becomes a bit grey, I absolutely don't think it's bad in any way though - that's not what I'm saying. It's just that I don't believe in ten years from now this will be the album that I think is the best we've ever done.

Well, this part surprised me. This is what I call honesty! I think it's pretty refreshing to hear something like this, instead of the usual promotion-babble a la "this is the best we have ever done!!" ;)

thanks Bugs!

But why do they want to make a maxi out of "brave new world" -
there are more appropriate songs on "Skyshaper"...
for example: "Spindrift"

do you agree?

I would like a Single of 20Hz with a Remix on it.
But Brave New World is a great song anyway!

I like Brave New World better. But both would make great singles.

I made a mp3 of the interview. Is there anyway to archive it somewhere on the web, w/o getting in a big copyright mess?

No! I like Spindrift more than Brave New World but I don't think at all that Spindrift would make a good single! BNW on the other hand is perfect for a single release as it's a quite poppy and catchy tune and very accessible for people outside the scene (that is, mainstream people ;) )

The only other songs which would be single-worthy are imo 20Hz (in a much-desired remixed version) and maybe Pulse.

Spindrift

Voilà! That´s the reason : of course they pick the songs which are the most mainstream of all...

@Niggels: yes you are right...nevertheless: I´m looking forward to Covenanats live gig in Lahr (Dark-Dance) - maybe they play "Spindrift" and maybe they make it more a club-hit

If Covenant asked me, :D I´d say : -Spindrift
-20Hz
-Greater than the sun : give me the maxis!
