Folks, do enjoy the moment now and as it is. The future will be anyway and if you plan it too much, it is almost sure, you will be dissapointed. I mean, turn your face to the sun and be grateful it is there! :)

lol
You're right. But WE aren't planning. That's Covenants job ;)
We are just considering and reckoning.

and when you read the interview on www.reflectionsofdarkness.com you can read for real that there were doubts if Covenant would keep existing in future...

Is there something that I have misunderstood ?

I understood that there were doubts in the past, but I did not read that there are still doubts if Covenant would keep existing in the future......

?(

nono, that´s right... I just wanted to make sure that there were difficulties and doubts... and something like this can happen again.

But I hope we´ll have Covenant for many more years ;)

Actually Joakim told me that he was suprised that he comes across a bit too negative in some parts of the interview. In fact he was in good spirits when we met for the interview, and although he was openly talking about problematic times for the band (post-Northern Light and during the making of Skyshaper) his "You never know if there will be a next album"-comment was not that pessimistic, doubtful and bitter as it might seem to be to some people. It was more in a sense of realism - and he had a smile in his face when he said that, so obviously it's not something he worried too much about. It's just fact that noone knows what future will bring - but I'm sure that Covenant will continue to shape their skies as long as possible.

But you never know. Perhaps next time there's no label who is willing to release a new Covenant album, perhaps Eskil will decide to live as a Buddhits monk in Nepal, perhaps we will all dead because a huge meteor hit planet earth, perhaps Joakim leaves Covenant to join the Metal band Kovenant. ;)
You never know, but it will be fun or at least interesting (especially the sight of the meteor in the moment before it hits earth  )

Eskil as a buddhist monk?
but... buddhists are all bald, right? I'm afraid that wouldn't fit to him. :(
I like his hair. :-/

If Joakim should ever join "The Kovenant" that would be great anyway.
I like some of there stuff too. ;) That would bring some fresh influences in their songs.

This is how I'd read it.

If nothing else there is the uncertainty in the whole music industry, the business is forced to change due to piracy - which hit hardest on small labels and artists. If you want to make sure Covenant will release a new album - do all you can to make this one sell well. Promote it to all you know and make sure they buy it!

As it is now it's getting increasingly hard to release physical products, and we are forced to rely more on releasing new material only over the net. A single is a calculated loss to promote an album, and often it's hard to motivate that - because the album won't pay for it.

I'm sure that there will be at least an online release somewhere in the future. But hopefully there's still a market for plastics next time ;)

Most certainly! Esp. what PC (polycarbonate) is concerned, I think the future is quite bright. Bear in mind the new format tecnologies based on blue ray, that are to replace the DVD in the near future. It will take even higher quality PC grades to make that affordable and yes, the CD, if still around can only profit of that too.

BTW, did anyone of you guys know that the Bullet MCD, as well as the Nothern Light CD Digipack are both HDCD compatible? This stays for a High Definition CD and is used exclusively by the audiophile audience. I have never seen that in this scene, but with Covenant. This is what I consider perfect job. :-]
