Fanart - A tribute to M'era Luna 2007

Hello everyone!

I was not sure whether to post this here or not. But there are some similar threads at this subforum. So I hope the mods won't kill me for that.

Yes, I'm totally new here and I admit freely that I just registered to show off a little bit. :P ;)

Okay okay, I'm not that bad at all. I recently stalked the (very inactive) Covenant group at deviantART and found a trace to this forum. So I just thought it could be interesting for you. :D

"What the heck does that girl want?!?"

I must confess that I just saw 2 live performances from Covenant - both at M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim. And I love those white suits! After ML 2007 I just *had to* do an artwork. First I wanted to make a "threesome", but due the absence of Clas and his live substitute Daniel I just thought, "Damn it!" and leave it up to Eskil for the first part. Hopefully you don't mind that. :cry:

For the picture itself:
It was my first attempt to do a digital portrait of a real person. I used some reference photos from ML 2007 which made the thing much easier. Kept it a bit more minimalistic and clear. Someone told me it looks like a poster from the 50's and I'm really content with that. :-]

Hope you like it!

Feedback is very welcome. A larger one can be found on my deviantART account. Click me!

I think you're in the right place here – welcome at the forum! :)

I've never done any digital paintings, so I can't judge if this was exceptionally hard to do or not or something like that. You just get my very unprofessional opinion.

But anyway, the picture is great! :-] Thanks for posting!
I do agree with your friends, it has something of the 50s in it.

Nobody wanted to join the deviantart group/account.. I will give access to it if you want it;.. but then I thought that the easiest way was for everyone to just post their own stuff in their own accounts, and have the covenant one favorite them... so basically act as a jumping off point.

Oh. And it looks awesome!

Oh yes, it definitely has that retro poster style to it. I'd like it even if I had no idea who this man was, so good job! :perfekt:

Thank you everyone for your kind words! Made me really happy :-]

@Daniel Myer:
I would be great to know what my "victim" think of it. *muahahah* (<-evil laugh) Thanks for telling him. :D

Like everything else it's a question of practice. If you've got the skills and know-how it's not that difficult. ;) But although I draw (as hobby) since about 9 years now I just started with digital artwork. Portraying real people is a bit more difficult cause there's always something to compare with. On the other hand having a good reference picture compensates this. It took me at least 10 hours to finish it, I guess. (Could be more or less... rather more than less...)
Zur Signatur - hehe danke. ^^

@erichazann:
I discovered the group just a few days ago while I was browsing at DA for some Covenant pictures. It's sad to hear that it didn't work. I know it's hard to find member and keep such a project running.
Anyway, thank you very much for the faves! *hugs*

Thanks, that gives me an impression (I draw a bit, too. I gave up doing portraits years ago but maybe I should start again with it?). I'm sure those 10 hours went by rather fast! :)
