Another day off, another pic:

Pretty much did it the same way, except I added another white layer for the skin because they looked like they fell asleep in a tanning bed. Not very good. And Eskil wasn't very difficult to do this time; I just had to zoom in and use a very small brush on his flyaway hair.

I had another smaller one of just Clas I was working on, but the way the pic was taken made it look like the lens used was one of those kind that you use to see UV damage on your skin. I tortured myself for an hour and a half on that one, but no matter what I did to try to cover up the splotches, his skin looked either too pale or too dark. So I deleted it.

Maybe I'll strip the color from one of the Skyshaper pics and work on that next. I don't know if I feel that masochistic right now, though. :P

@michelem31: ah - I remember - pain-amplifier (german: Schmerzverstärker).
I once started reading "dune" in English, but I didn´t like it - ...
In a way I missed the deep and philosophic "atmosphere" of the german translation (but I read it in French in order to improove my "language-skills").

Well, even though I like to see myself as a big covenant-fan I nevertheless don´t have every track - only all albums and three maxis - on which MCD or sampler is pain-amplifier?

Your pictures look like a lot of work! :perfekt:
"I myself am pursueing the same instinctive course as the veriest human animal you can think of - I am however young, starring at particles of light in the midst of great darkness." (John Keats)

:

I have it on my computer as an MP3 without the album tag, so I had to go look it up. On the band site, it doesn't have it listed on any of the albums, EP's or MCD's, but I look everywhere else (amazon, musicbrainz, discogs), and it has it as the fourth track on Dreams of a Cryotank, where, according to the band site, Void is supposed to be. So, I don't really know!

There are two versions I've noticed of DOC, one having Void as track four and then another with Painamplifier instead. Also with Edge of Dawn marked as "mix" on the Painamplifier version. Not sure why the difference between them but my album is the Russian & CIS version. I noticed the difference on iTunes first and what caught my eye is that the album cover art is different from my version.

That's all the info I have. :)

Great job again! :)

That white layer seems to have come out looking pretty natural, actually. Of course I say this because I would I totally go to the same tanning salon, the "Pasty Pallor" salon. ;)

Guys guys! Thanks for the nice comments. :)

I'm thinking this should be the official thread for ANYONE to show off what they can do with Covenant in photoshop (I don't mean that! Pervs :P) Recolorings, walls, photo touchups, whatever. This thread isn't all about what I can do. :)

So, I opened up a pic from the Skyshaper shoot, and then I decided to make a wall instead. One for my sister, since she made me a wall the other day. 573205702570290 tries at something surreal and crazy, I decided to so something fairly simple. In two resolutions:

1152x864

1024x768

Use if you like. :)

Ok! It's almost 11:30 PM here. Off to bed.

I like discogs.com for cd information.. did you look at all the releases?

Painamplifier is on the American releases (21st circuitry & metropolis) of DOC. The first two releases, on Memento Materia (scandinavia) and Off Beat (germany) had the other track listing with Void.

Lushmachine: are you talking about this cover artwork? http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk/product-vi…productid=10853 ? I'm not sure, if that was the original Off Beat artwork, but that's the artwork on the current Off Beat release and in the doubleCD box with Europa.

Yes, that's the album artwork I have. It is indeed labeled as Off Beat as well, about half my Covenant CDs are from Off Beat. I suppose that some are from Germany and some are from Russia, as that would be where I got them from. :)

Thanks for investigating, Ericha! :D

Oh hey, that's nice! You picked good photos of them as they all have their faces angled differntly. The shadows make a nice fade into the main background as well. :perfekt:

So I read a bit of a Photoshop guide and I shed a tear. It's either learning the program or sticking with learning all my shiny audio equipment. Looks like audio wins for now, so I can't volunteer to add any of my own work here. Besides that, I didn't get a photo pass for their show so I don't have any images to contribute to the thread. Sorry!

Okay, calling all creative minds! Michele wants to share the limelight! ;)

Edit: I just wanted to put an idea out there and say it would be fun if someone took features of all three men and made one surreal face out of it. Like an embodiment of the group? Just an idea. :)

Aww, thanks. Actually, it's from this pic. You'd actually have to thank the original photographer for posing them in that way. :)

Honestly, I haven't devoted much time to learning how everything works. :sch: I just wing it most of the time.

Making that would take more skill and talent I have right now! So I think I'll leave that for the more artistically inclined members of the forum. :-]

Oh yeah, I remember that photo now. First time I saw it my thought was, "wow, they look so bored." I liked the entire set of these, actually. The photographer did a good job of making them look dark and brooding.

Ahh, I would annoy myself if I did that because I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Doesn't help that I've worked in the print media industry for some years now and I've seen tons of really bad digital work, so the idea of making something awful looking just to learn would annoy and frustrate me to no end.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of keeping them just three men. They give the impression of being three very different people so my idea feels a little weird to me now. I've seen Photoshop face creation done before so that's where I got the idea in the first place. Besides, I'd probably find it very odd to see myself mashed up with my two closest friends, so I don't think it would be any less weird for them! :P

There is probably a program out there that morphs people together. I've seen it before when people make "children" from a couple. You would get three different morphs that way, combining in sets of two. ABC, BCA, and ACB with the first two letters being the product of the first morph.

That reminds me of Conan O'Brian's "If They Mated" sketch. Wow, that makes my idea sound even creepier!

I've seen animation that morphs from face to face with a blend between each face, which is actually very fun with a large quantity of faces to blend. Of course, I've never had to do this myself. Lucky me. ;)

Eeeeee! Yeah, this is getting too creepy, lol... I think I'll stick with The Sims... I once morphed a kid as offspring between a Terminator and a Giger alien and the result was so weirdly repugnant that it was cute....

MWAHAHA! You thought I forgot about Photoshop, didn't you!?

Ok, I don't really mean to be all diabolical. I actually didn't forget; I figured out a few problems that were plaguing my novel and got it going somewhere again. So, now I'm giving my new words a rest and coming back to image stuff. :)

I have another wallpaper. In two sizes:

1152x860

1024x768

It was only a matter of time until I did one with that song, considering it's one of my two personal favorites (Flux being the other one). I attempted to make it look like the film reel was coming out of a film spool or cartridge, but, alas, it was not meant to be.

Now I want to do something with Flux. I shall be back with results sometime. Mwahaha.

Am I a bad "fan" for admitting I've never seen some of those photos before? :sch:

Very true! I've never really cared what musicians look like, though. Some of the best I know are rather modest looking. :)

Imagine this got me in trouble some years back when I got into an argument with a guy at a bar and then someone came up behind me and whispered, "You realize that's Liam from The Prodigy, right?"

I'd owned every album of theirs at that point, too. Never bothered to really look at their faces, which my friends couldn't grasp because I was heavily into photography back then too.
