RE: Happy birthday COVENANT

To Covenant:

Happy Birthday guys. Thanks once again for all the sincerity and effort you put in your music. And listening and caring for what us fans have to say. There's not many groups like you guys out there doing what you guys are doing.

Give us 20 more years!

Happy Birthday from me too! :perfekt:

I associate so many good memories with Covenant! :)

Like the gig at the Zillo open air festival 1997. Sequencer was out for a while, and Covenant played the main stage at a rather early time. I liked the band but wasn`t a "die hard" fan yet. This was truly one of the best gigs I have ever witnessed! Despite the early time Covenant attracted a huge crowd, and I was really surprised how many people turned up at the stage (instead of staying at the tent or enjoying the sun somewhere ;) ) and I think the band was surprised too. The atmosphere was overwhelming and pure euphoria, everyone felt that they were taking part in a very special moment, and Clas, Eskil and Joakim were obviously stunned by the massive response and had big smiles on their faces. The afternoon sun was wandering around and started to shine through the backdrop of the stage, dispersing rays of light through the gaps and voids of the backdrop from behind. Just looked awesome, and I think I have never seen such a light setting before. Simply everything in that moment felt special.
After that I was hooked on Covenant and tried to see as many shows as possible. :D And, of course, many more great moments were to come. :)

The Europa tour, including my first interview with the band and having too much whiskey with a guy named Ronan Harris, who was the singer of the back then rather unknown support band. ;) Following around the band on the United States Of Mind tour. Having a few drinks with a certain Mr. Montelius at the otherwise rather boring Eurorock indoor fest. Going to cities like Berlin or Barcelona to see this band live. A certain "Bluten Gel" :D incidence where I proved yet another time my tendency to drop a brick. And, for me a very happy moment, seeing "Happy Birthday Niggels" on all screens at the Hamburg show of the Northern Light tour before the guys came back to perform the encore!

And many more moments, and I`m sure there`s more to come! :)

Happy Birthday Covenant!

Oh, I remember - I have been there, too. The main and only stage was in front of the hangar, where now at the M'era Luna-Festvals the second and smaller stage is, right?

I agree, it was a great gig and a great festival, too (a little bit warm, but great). :perfekt:

For every memory theres a soundtrack..true.

You can listen to a song that you heard for the first time 10 years ago and you'll still remember exactly where you were and what you were going through at the time.

also great wishes from me to Covenant

Im Schoß der silberhellen Schneenacht
dort schlummert alles weit und breit,
und nur ein ewig wildes Weh wacht
in einer Seele Einsamkeit.
Du fragst, warum die Seele schwiege,
warum sie’s in die Nacht hinaus
nicht gießt? - Sie weiß, wenns ihr entstiege,
es löschte alle Sterne aus.

I'm a little late to the party, but my sincerest thank yous, best wishes and congratulations for you three. There are so many memories and emotions that will have forever as long as the music is there to breathe it all into me.

I love that picture. It always makes me smile... I don't really get why Niggels made Clas so pale tho.. but it make me laugh.
